The TV travel show “Check-in” presents destinations from all over the world. Viewers enjoy entertainment and inspiration in a relaxing image-rich format with on-location reporting from the presenters. A selection of distinct ‘columns’ within the programme allows it to cover a wide range of topics and also lends it a characteristic signature. The design concept reflects this diversity with refreshing chromatic and typographic variance, allowing each heading to have its own distinct appearance. Within this, the opener can be seen as a journey through these columns. The look is as young, lively and dynamic as the programme itself, incorporating oblique shaded columns and surfaces which cover and reveal the visual content in smooth animation sequences. In this way, the viewer sees the videos and images used as a living series of snapshots documenting a particular journey.
