In the Christmas campaign 2018, Das Erste presented emotional and humorous „Snapshots of Christmas“, reminding us what Christmas Eve should be about: the joy of togetherness and love.
To achieve this goal, DASERSTE Design and Luxlotusliner produced together with film production BLM Film under the direction of Maurus vom Scheidt 4 short stories, catching Christmas moments from different perspectives.
Maria and Joseph are a young couple in expectation, celebrating the feast in an 80s caravan on a wide field. Suddenly a bleating herd of sheep surrounds them. Far above their heads one brilliant star is crossing the sky.
Two kids are decorating the Christmas tree together with complete devotion. Suddenly the fairy lights lighten up the whole scenario and the assumed Christmas tree is actually a completely decorated dozed off grandpa, with bubbles hanging on his ears and a star of Bethlehem on his head.
In one cosy pub, Santa Clauses are gathering for a coffee break before taking off to make the next round of Christmas present deliveries on their rickshaws and bicycles.
The idents were integrated in Das Erste Christmas programming with very positive feedbacks from the viewers.
